There is a delightful treat for all those visiting Italy during the summer. For the first time in the world, there is a museum of its own for the Italian ice cream – gelato.
An amazing cultural experience, touch of history and the technology makes it a worthwhile experience. The favourite ice cream in Italy is set open its doors to the public in September 27 now you can book your cheap flights and visit Italy.
The museum will showcase a series of more than 10,000 historical photographs and over 20 ice cream making machines. Adding more to the mouth-watering museum experience is a fantastic tasting session. The museum also exhibits the first written recipe and primitive gelato making machines made out of iron and wood.
History of gelato goes back to the 12th century BC. Nevertheless, the museum is dedicated to the history, culture and technology of gelato through eons of time.
The $2 million museum will be open to public in September in Bologna. However, people are allowed to make advance bookings to organize free tours from the mid week of August. The interactive tour will take you through three themes – evolution of the frozen dessert treat, history of gelato production and technology over time and its consumption.
Though the terms ice cream and gelato are used synonymously, gelato has a less fat content than ice cream. Adding more to it, gelato is made locally and considered very fresh.
Explore the mouth-watering gelato delight this September with no guilty conscious and eat out to your heart’s content.
