It is one of the spectacular events in the wildlife calendar! Every year, the wildebeest migration attracts tourists from all over the world to witness this amazing wonder.

The best time to witness the sheer volume of wildebeest migration is during July to October. It is during mid July to October that covers the river crossings. Crossing the crocodile infested rivers of Mara and Grumeti are one of the top attractions in the wildebeest migration. While the fittest survive the crossing of the river, the weakest become the prey of the deadliest crocodiles.

The migration is influenced by rainfall patterns across the Masai Mara Reserve. The Masai Mara Reserve is part of the Serengeti National Park. Boasting a rich wildlife, the national park is home to the ‘Big Five’ – lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and buffaloes. The profuse birdlife is regarded as a paradise for birdwatchers too.
