What to take home from a hotel?

What to take home from a hotel?

“Wow! this feels like home,” and ultimately you need to take the whole room in your backpack on the way back. But yeah, maybe you can take some in your bag, but not everything though. Most hotels want you to sense like at home in your room, so, with their beautiful and decorative things, temptations can occur, and yes you are responsible for that. Felt what you did in your relationship? Well, this isn’t a relationship, and you could end up paying a fine.

Therefore, before you start stuffing your bag with goodies, take a moment to see what you can and what you cannot grab from your hotel room.

What you can take from a hotel room

Anything complimentary is open for you to “steal”. Shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap, a face towel, packets of creamer, coffee & sugar, plus the other bathroom amenities. The slippers will get thrown away after you leave, so no matter if you pack them away for later use. Stationary, pens, notepaper, postcards, and envelopes are also a gift to you—and because they carry their logo, hotels count those as a candid publication.

Event tickets

Higher-end hotels are ready to go a bit further to satisfy their well-heeled guests, and they may toss in free tickets to events or tourist attractions. Other perks include free access to outdoor screenings, exhibitions or educational programs.

What you cannot take from a hotel room

Towels, pressers, hairdryers, comforters, pillows, and sheets, are the rather obvious stuff which you shouldn’t take back, but for a specific reason, some people are excited about gathering these kinds of stuff. Cable cases, clock radios, arts, ashtrays, light bulbs, TV remote control, and even the Bible has usually stolen as well. However, all of these items belong to the hotel, and it’s intended to stay in the room.

Shower robes, generally, ought to be abandoned too. Many hotels do clean them for the following guest. However, in some better-quality hotels, a guest might be given a monogrammed robe as a present.

If all else fails in the case of something is complimentary (and therefore okay to pack), you can call the front work area for double-checking.

The grey area

Teabags and complimentary coffee can be a divisive one.
These usually come free with the hotel room, so some debate that if you drink it, you won’t be charged extra and therefore carrying them home is no offbeat.
However, when you consider that Brits take around £3million worth of tea bags from hotels every year, those costs do add up for the business, so if you haven’t used the tea or coffee, it may be deserving to leave it behind.

So basically, toiletries are okay since you use them during your stay, but taking anything, which can be given to the next guest, isn’t a reasonable game.
