The Island of Gozo : An Island in the Deep Blue Sea ??

I have always dreamt to go to a distant island which is surrounded by blue sea ??. In fact, it had been one of my inspiration for many years. One of my friends suggested me to visit the Island of Gozo. I researched the internet about the place and as soon as I saw a couple of pictures of the very island, my mind just set the place as my destination. So, I raced to my trusted travel agents to check about the travelling details. It was none other than the famous ‘Travel Center UK’ team. I am with them for a long time. To obtain the best prices in the market -❤️Travel Center UK is the place you have to reach for.

Sadly ?, I went alone as none of my friends or family members could manage the time. I first flew to the main island of Malta. I stayed there for one night as there is a limited ferry service available to Gozo at night. For the night I stayed at Hilton Malta, St. Julian’s area; it took about 60 minutes to reach St. Julian’s by the Route X1 bus from the airport.

I planned to catch the first ferry in the morning so I took the Bus 222 which leaves at 5 am. It takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach to Ċirkewwa. I was early so I was able to enjoy the wonderful morning view at Ċirkewwa dock. There is ferry available at every 45 minutes. I bought a round trip ticket for 4.65 euros. The half and an hour boat trip to Mgarr(Gozo) was fantastic and the Mediterranean Sea views were breathtaking. I also had my breakfast on the boat. The blue lagoon of Mgarr harbour also amazed me.

In Gozo, I stayed for 2 days, I checked into Santa Martha Hostel, located at Marsalforn. It was a relatively small hotel, which charged only 18 euros per night for accommodation including the breakfast. But it was a nice accommodation, having a wonderful garden, facilities like car and bike hiring, breakfast area, kitchen facilities where guests can prepare their own meals free of charge if they want. I decided to hire a bike and explore the island even though it was a bit costly.

The first day I decided to explore different architectural properties of Gozo. I started from the capital of Gozo, Victoria (Rabat), went to the citadel an accident city, now with the beautifully restored castle. The entry into Citadel and the medieval castles are free, but the museums are not free but there is a free cinematic show of the story of the citadel. Then I went to the Gozo Museum of Archaeology.

Whilst in Victoria, I had my lunch at ‘La santaz’. They offered many varieties of food such as Italian, European and Mediterranean. I chose Mediterranean food; especially the Mediterranean style shrimp salad was really nice.?

Then I went to Ġgantija Temples, Xagħra. This is a world heritage site; two temples built on the same complex gives it a gigantic look. Riding from Rabat to Xagħra gave me the opportunity to explore the island’s natural beauty, its green hills, clear blue sky, it is much quieter and less urbanised than Malta.

The next day I went Għarbto to see the blue sea of Dwejra and the Azure Window and also had a boat trip on luzzu. The rock formations of Dwejraand Azure Window are really amazing.  Looking at the blue sea through the window shaped rock gave me an eternal feeling as if I were looking at the heaven through the window, it was such a mesmerizing place with a quiet and beautiful atmosphere.

Thanks a lot ❤️ ‘Travel Center UK’ for arranging such a beautiful trip for me. You guys just proved us as you are the best! ??
