Portugal’s national airline – TAP Portugal – in existence since 1945, is a member of Star Alliance. - The airline offers four Economy Class options: Discount, Basic, Classic, and Plus. This is good worth for the money spent, and is a good option to consider on budget trips. At a slightly higher range, TAP Basic adds to these benefits with newspapers, magazines, seat reservation facilities, and SMS notifications. TAP Classic increases these privileges by allowing for partial refunds on ticket. The higher range – TAP Plus – customers enjoy priority status at the airport, and can upgrade their tickets. TAP Portugal’s Economy Class has leather seats and the inflight entertainment (IFE) system utilizes overhead screens when not on seatback screens. On long-haul flights, the Economy Class in the newer aircraft comes equipped with individual touchscreen LCD monitors that feature a complete IFE system, while in the older aircraft, average IFE systems and individual screens are featured.
Business Class
- TAP Portugal’s Business Class on long-haul flights is known as TAP Executive Class. The aircraft feature lie-flat beds, allows for complete flexibility with tickets, and grants access to the lounge and the Premium Customer Center Terminal 1 at Lisbon. The seats can be converted to beds, and come with anti-allergy pillows that are double the size offered previously. They are also made of soft material. Soft quilts are offered on long-haul flights. Passengers can utilize the airline’s free valet parking service and enjoy the delicious meals on offer onboard created by the airline’s catering service. In-seat power options with sockets are available on the long-haul flights. Entertainment options are varied, and is available at your seat, with your own personal screen. - TAP’s inflight entertainment onboard the Airbus A330 consists of over 20 movies, 20 hours of TV series and documentaries in Portuguese and Brazilian as well as English, daily news from radio channels in Portugal and France, games (including multiplayer games that allow you to play with others who are onboard), an audio collection of more than 900 songs and audio books (you can also make your own program by picking your favorites from the regularly changed 60 CDs available), and 12 TAP radio channels. Other aircraft in the fleet feature 6 recent movies, from Europe and Latin America. UP, the inflight magazine by TAP is available for all passengers onboard. Additionally, a fully responsive website (http://upmagazine-tap.com) and a downloadable app for Apple iPad is available on board the aircraft as well as on the internet. A range of newspapers and magazines are also available in TAP Executive and the lounges. Wi-Fi is available for purchase upon payment via credit card on flights that travel from European countries to the Americas.
