Green Globe re-certifies Hotels in Sri Lanka

Green Globe Certification is the worldwide sustainability system based on internationally accepted criteria for travel and tourism businesses. Green Globe announced re-certification of the two of the best hotels in Sri Lanka -Bentota Beach Hotel and Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel.

Bentota Beach Hotel pursues to become one of the top green resorts Down South Sri Lanka. Eco friendly operations and long-term environmental management system assists the hotel to reduce water and energy. The hotel recently introduced solar power for kitchen pantry, spas and Eco House, which accommodates staff and training.

Cinnamon Lakeside ranked as the best 5-star city hotel by Sri Lanka Tourism. The hotel believes in creating awareness to promote and strengthen green initiatives. Room are facilitated with water efficient, dual flush toilets, water saving faucets and showers. Biodegradable chemicals been utilised for kitchens, housekeeping and laundry. The hotel invests on frequent training programs on all streams of sustainability including water and energy consumptions and waste management.
