Emirates Air Line – London’s newest addition

Emirates Air Line is the newest addition to London’s attractions! It is UK’s first urban cable which was opened to the public recently. It’s a brand new way to experience the city across over Thames River.
Emirates Air Line is the newest mode of transportation to explore the city sights and surroundings. It was opened just in time for the Summer Olympic 2012 attracting travellers and providing a jam free experience.

There are two terminals to board the Emirates Air Line – Emirates Royal Docks and Emirates Greenwich Peninsula. It has the capacity to accommodate passengers up to 2500 per hour and features 34 cabins. The service is open to everyone including cyclists, pedestrians and wheelchair users. It is the newest addition the London’s transportation system. The Emirate Air Line is a staggering way to enjoy the city of London in ten minutes. Short as it may seem, passengers are able to catch a glimpse of the Greenwich, Canary Wharf, Olympic Park and panoramic views of the city of London.

The Emirates Air Line links O2 Arena in Greenwich connects with ExCel Centre at Royal Docks which are two major Olympic venues. The ExCel Center hosts an array of sporting events including wrestling, table tennis, boxing, judo, taekwondo and weightlifting. Gymnastic, basket ball tournaments and equestrian events are held at the O2 Arena.
