Coastal Aviation commits to offset carbon emission

Coastal Aviation Group who are specialized in flights to Tanzania’s top tourist destinations recently launched a go green campaign in partnership with Carbon Tanzania and WildAid to reduce its impact on the environment.

Coastal Aviation is a renown flying safari company that creates exceptional experiences to passengers by blending authentic tailor-made journeys into the remote corners of the National Parks in Tanzania while maintaining a healthy balance of caring for the land and wildlife.

Coastal Aviation is substantially seeking ways to make commitments to commence their journey to go green, by adopting to eco-friendly habits they believe they can make a positive impact on the environment and reduce harm to the planet.

Coastal Aviation team has recently made an announcement stating that ‘with effect from 01st of August 2019, they will no longer offer single-use water bottles for their passengers and the company have pioneered intuitive initiatives such as introducing metal bottles instead of plastic in order to reduce the amount of plastic usage in their aircraft to positively impact the environment’.

The Coastal Aviation takes new steps to promote sustainable tourism and to become an environmentally friendly company that is much more ecologically responsible.

The Coastal Aviation also has launched water dispensers along with metal water bottles in their main hub airports in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, and Zanzibar

“Today is our first official attempt to indulge in ecological tourism. We want to promote and encourage a cleaner, safer environment, to create less pollution and reduced carbon footprint. We want to pioneer and lead initiatives that show our increasing responsibility to our environment and homeland’ explained Shaf Syed, Managing Director of Coastal Aviation in a trading webinar held recently.

According to recent studies, it is estimated that the airline industry produces between 2-3% of CO2 emissions per year. All that jet fuel is released to the atmosphere. And the number of people flying each year is increasing, dramatically. Coastal Aviation team intends to be a trendsetter in the industry by initiating the Go Green campaign, which will rapidly spread as a new norm to certain airlines who are under rising pressure to cut their carbon emissions.
