Coachella: 2020 Lineup, how to survive and FAQ’S

It’s almost that time of the year when the Empire Polo Club is swarmed by hundreds of thousands dressed in flamboyant outfits – when jovial shrills and screams fill the air, and musical masterpieces bring the night to life with their sounding vocals. As Coachella rises on the horizon, it’s better to know what you’re in for this year. Scheduled to begin on the 10th of April 2020, the mass musical take over is set to go on till the 20th, hoisting two whole weekends of euphoric sensations.

Coachella has a decade-long history of curating the biggest and most buzz-worthy stars to take hold of the crowd’s enthusiasm with their performances. The star-studded stages are almost the entire reason for travellers to converge, with past performances including Beyonce, Prince, Daft Punk, Ariana Grande and more. This year, some of the biggest names to take the lead are Lana Del Ray, Megan Thee Stallion, Kim Petras, DaBaby, Travis Scott and Calvin Harris. With equally revolutionary performances coming in line as follows

What Else?

The musical stars aren’t the only ones glowing with fame at Coachella. You might also get the chance to meet the celebrities who have taken YouTube by storm! Creators to make a usual appearance include Tana Mongeau, Emma Chamberlain, The Dolan Twins, Liza Koshy, David Dobrik and James Charles.

How to Survive Coachella 2020

Here’s the thing, sugar-coating aside, Coachella can get wild – with everything going on, you’re bound to see at least one catfight, a teenager get arrested for underage drinking, a traveller throwing up after a deadly hangover and a stalker who tries to tackle a performer in the hopes of finding true love.

1) Bring a positive attitude

Don’t be the one festival-goer everybody hates! Remember, nobody wants to see your girlfriend on your shoulder blocking the only chance for others to see Lana Del Ray or Megan Thee Stallion (yes that’s how a brawl starts at Coachella). Plus, don’t try to push your way to the front to get a better view, because you will be greeted by a fist at some point. Prioritise your needs, make sure to head out early if you want a better spot during the performance.

2) Know where to eat!

Once again, the musical celebration has convened A-list Los Angeles chefs to cook at the festival in Indio, California. The event – apart from its outdoor field activities, are also set to have a large food hall that serves the rush of fast food and all things associated. From coffee and vegan dumplings to burgers, its everything you need to celebrate the best weekends of the year. So, save yourself from the unnecessary trip to the hospital and stay away from the sketchy looking street vendor.

3) Condoms and breath mints

I’m not even going to try to explain this one.

4) Say no to drugs and underage drinking

The phrase don’t judge a book by its cover doesn’t get so real until Coachella. Just because the person next to you is wearing a light-up flower crown or a sequin bomber jacket doesn’t mean they can’t whip out a pair of handcuffs on you (and it’s not in the way you think). Due to increased suspicion, Coachella is full of undercover cops who will turn this weekend into pure nightmare fuel. So, if you’re underage, stay clear of alcohol and drugs.

5) Beware of the prices

Due to the high demand, Coachella can get expensive, so, make sure you have enough money to spend – this is mostly just beer but drinking lots of alcohol under 100-degree weather doesn’t mix well. So, feel free to avoid the booze route until at least sundown.

6) Earplugs = mandatory at all costs

I know what you’re thinking, it’s a music festival – yes, I know, but trust us when we say that the music is LOUD! If you feel like standing in the front row directly in line with the mega-speakers without ear protection is not a big deal – then rethink it! Because the speakers at Coachella have the potential of causing permanent ear damage. Get the earplugs designed especially for concerts, these plugs bring down the volume to a reasonable decibel level – meaning, it won’t keep you away from hearing Calvin Harris’s tunes.

So, feel free to start searching for costume ideas! We’re just a month away from Coachella!
