A Timeline of Dubai’s Upcoming Celebrations!

A Timeline of Dubai’s Upcoming Celebrations!

Offering numerous events and festivals, each day spent in Dubai brings forth a world of new possibilities!

Now, that might be a little exaggerating but still, Dubai’s festivals are actually great. Also, you’re in for a treat if you visit the cosmopolitan city during its peak season, which means between November and March when the climate is very much appealing.

From sports to arts, Dubai has a bit of everything in store for everyone. Because let’s face it. Nobody likes an event that doesn’t spark their interest, you’re spending a lot of money and this is one of the ways Dubai proves that it is worthy of every dirham.

December 2019

shopaholics rejoice because Dubai is the only city in the world that hosts two entire festivals dedicated to retail shopping. The month-long shopping festival begins in the first week of December and you’ll be able to go on adventure-bound shopping sprees to make use of promotions, bargains and entertainment galore. As for the second event, it starts in July and is also similar for the most part, except it’s been described as more of a carnival than the festival in December, meaning you need to make it to Dubai by July at all costs.

January 2020

The city hosts several major sporting events that offer huge cash prizes! (for the participants — and the participants are some of the world’s top sporting personalities…) If you’re planning on visiting the city in 2020 then keep your eyes peeled for the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon, Dubai Desert Classic, Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships and the Rugby Sevens, some of the best sporting events the city hosts.

You’ll also be able to see the La Perle by Dragone in January! La Perle is a show unlike any other in Dubai, it features the use of some of the most advanced technology to create waterfalls, rain and torrents on a floor that drains out as quick as it fills. On this occasion, you’ll be blessed with the sight of over 65 world-class performers from 23 countries performing gasp-worthy acts including, acrobats, contortion, flying, diving and even acts defying gravity. The event is held from the 9th of January 2020

February 2020

Art geeks assemble because the arts are not forgotten by Dubai’s fast-moving expanse. Both Art Dubai and the Dubai International Jazz Festival features renowned artists debuting their most impeccable work from the world’s leading galleries. Open mics are also incredibly popular during these times. Which I have to say, sounds great because I don’t know about you but I love listening to stand-up comedy, live music and all of that sort by upcoming performers. Sure, some of them are horrible but I happen to enjoy it anyways.

During February, Dubai also hosts the International Boat Show, which is set to showcase some of the most exquisite yachts and boats from all over the globe.

March 2020

Dubai World Cup, the world’s richest horse race that offers a total of $35 million as prize money takes place at the Meydan Racecourse. The season, starting on the 28th of March, promises to be the thrill not worth missing! The event is one of the biggest events in Dubai and is also expected to bring in visitors from all over the world.
