Guadalajara, a walk through the world of Tequila

I am from Mexico, specifically from Guadalajara, but I am studying in the United Kingdom. Now as I’m on vacation I wanted to go to my hometown and invite a friend who had nothing to do but can come with me. We decided to leave the day after our final exam and as he does not know the city I decided to be his tour guide and take him to the best sites in Guadalajara.

Guadalajara is one of the most important cities in Mexico. In the center you can find buildings with neoclassical architecture, La Paz and Vallarta avenues, fountains, bars restaurants, among others. It is a city of urban beauty and culture that every traveler should visit.

As on vacation my whole family gathers in my house, there was no space for my friend and myself, so we stayed at the Eurostars Zona Rosa Suites, this 4 star hotel which had good service. My room was large, comfortable and the bed was ultra-soft. Its location is very good since it is close to the main tourist attractions.

As we had party spirit the first thing we did was to take the Tequila Route, on this excursion we visited the agaveros fields of the Amatitan Valley, the most emblematic villages and haciendas where they make this famous drink. Here you can enjoy other sites that are considered cultural heritage such as the main square and the Taberna de los Tepetates. They explained us the origin of this national drink, we explored its factories and what we liked the most were the agaveros landscapes that are absolutely beautiful. This tour has all amazing landscapes and the national drink of Mexico

Then we visited Lake Chapala and Ajijic, this is the most natural lake in Mexico where there is also the town of Ajijic. The view of this lake is spectacular; we could see the agricultural areas and the residence of Vicente Fernandez which is called El Rancho de los Tres Potrillos. We were also able to explore the whole village and visit the craft shops of the town. The flora and fauna of this place is beautiful in addition to the picturesque villages which are full of galleries shops where you can find jewelry, textiles, typical handicrafts Ajijic and other unique souvenirs.

We were also able to do a Gastronomic Tour through Guadalajara City. On this trip we tried the typical Mexican food that is totally different from the Mexican one that is usually available in the United Kingdom. Whilst in the tour, they explained the typical dishes and their recipes. Also, we were told that Mexican food is listed as one of the World Heritages by UNESCO, a fact of great importance that I did not know. The Gastronomic tour was based on visiting the most symbolic restaurants in the Historic Center. We discovered typical dishes like the choked cake, originating from the City of Roses, Enchiladas, Fajitas, Tacos, Burritos among others. We tried a mix of all and they were very delicious.

Finally, let me remind you about an important team, which helped us to fly to Guadalajara without any hassles. It’s none other – the great ‘Travel Center UK’. They are my friendly travel advisors cum travel agents. This was my 10th tour with ‘Travel Center UK’. However, the main reason I’m sticking with this team is – the continuous and unparalleled service they provided each and every time. I was impressed at the first time and they keep impressing me every single time as well. Another great job done by you guys. Good Luck and Thank You, ‘Travel Center UK’! See you soon too!
