Summer 2021: Where can I go on holiday without quarantine?

To quarantine or not to quarantine — a question that has been weighing on my mind, probably even yours! Summer 2021 is upon us, and I can’t help but wonder, where can I go on holiday without quarantine?

As you may already know, restrictions for travel in 2021 are successively beginning to relax as the rollout of the global vaccine drive picks up the pace. In like manner, there are many new positive changes taking place within the travel industry. So, where can I go on holiday without quarantine? Keep reading to find out the latest updates on the Summer 2021 holidays.

Where can I go right now for my summer holidays?

As a matter of fact, there have been many countries deliberating on how to manage international travellers for summer 2021.

However, all the considerations aside, things have changed for the better. Well, at least in the travel aspect!

In the light of many countries being added to the green list, they reopened their borders, coupled with general entry requirements.

Where is it safe to travel in 2021?

The UK government recently announced a traffic light system of red, amber, and green listed countries. Each category involves a different set of rules on testing, quarantining, and safe travel. The best part is, the green-listed countries have no need for self-isolation when returned to the UK.

That’s not all! It gets better. From Monday 19 July, those who were double-jabbed won’t need to quarantine when arriving from amber list countries, either. These are the destinations you’ll presumably be able to visit during summer 2021 without having to quarantine. So, let me walk you through the list, that I’ve put together.

So, where can I go on holiday without quarantine this summer

Europe

Balearic Islands

You can enter the Balearic Islands with no restrictions. However, before travelling, you must fill in a pre-travel declaration form.

Iceland

If you have been fully jabbed against Covid-19, you can travel to Iceland.

Iceland makes the perfect place to visit with its awe-inspiring beauty. Here’s a read on the mystical attractions that will enchant you when Visiting Iceland!

Gibraltar

If you wish to travel to Gibraltar, you have to book a free lateral flow test 24 hours before arrival.

Madeira

Madeira permits holidaymakers to enter the destination only after filling in a form 12-48 hours before leaving, proof of a negative test taken less than 72 hours and a health screening at the airport. However, if you have been fully vaccinated two weeks before you travel, you will not require a test, and a vaccine certificate from the NHS will be accepted.

Malta

Malta is ready for summer 2021, and you can enter if you have an NHS vaccine certificate. Likewise, you need to fill in the Public Health Declaration Form as well as the Passenger Locator form before arriving.

The Caribbean

Anguilla

Travelling to Anguilla requires prior approval from the Government’s Health Team. (A form available on the Government’s COVID-19 website) That’s not all; you should also present proof of a negative PCR test taken 3 to 5 days before arrival. Nevertheless, upon arrival, you will be tested again.

Barbados

If you plan to take your summer 2021 holidays in Barbados, you will need a negative test taken less than 72 hours.

Antigua and Barbuda

Antigua and Barbuda are welcoming tourists for the summer 2021 holidays. But you are required to provide proof of a negative test taken not less than seven days.

Turks & Caicos islands

If you hope to travel to the Turks and Caicos Islands, you need a pre-travel authorisation via the Turks and Caicos Islands Assured Portal. You also need to upload proof of a negative Covid-19 test, verify travel insurance that includes Covid-19 cover, and submit a health screening quiz on the portal.

On top of that, if you have been completely vaccinated, you can take holidays to amber-list destinations, and you do not need to quarantine on arrival in England. The change will come into effect from 19 July, amazing, isn’t it?

However, you will still need to carry out a Covid test though. Let me tell you how. You’ll have to take one flow test before departing your residence as well as one PCR test as you return to the UK.

Amber listed destinations

Greece

If you like to travel to Greece for the summer 2021 holidays, you have to complete a health declaration form 24 hours before arrival.

Aruba

You can now visit Aruba on your summer 2021 holiday, providing that you complete a health declaration form before arrival, proof of a negative COVID-19 test and a certificate proving that you’re fully vaccinated.

Jamaica

To enter Jamaica, you need authorisation from the Visit Jamaica Website, a negative Covid test taken not less than 72 hours.

Are you travelling with kids? Then there is great news. If you are travelling with children under 18, they too will be exempt from quarantine on returning to England. How awesome is that?

However, it’s best to keep checking information on the UK’s traffic light system to learn whether the UK government has any new updates on this matter.
