Turkey to revoke visas for UK tourists from March 2020

Turkey to revoke visas for UK tourists from March 2020

It is BIG NEWS for the Brits, who will save £27 respectively by withdrawing the visa arrangements and costs, making it an esteemed change for the British holidaymakers which means more money in their pockets.

Tourists travelling to Turkey will no longer need to pay for a visa from the following month based on the new rules declared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A declaration from the government says: “As of 2 March 2020, Turkey has decided to exempt visa requirements for the members of the European Union Schengen area, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland as well as the United Kingdom citizens for touristic travels to Turkey for every 90 days within 180-day period.

This step aims at increasing our tourism potential with these countries as well as further developing our trade, economic and cultural relations.”

Passport rules will stay likewise, with travellers requiring at least six months validity on them to enter the country.

Last year, the Brits faced being directed away from the airport if they didn’t print their e-visas, following warning from travel agents and holidaymakers.

New changes in 2018 made it much more complicated, with visitors being forced to buy their visas before touring, as opposed to at kiosks at the airport after arrival.

However, Turkey remains a popular holiday destination with British travellers, with over 2.3 million visits in 2018 and over 2 million in 2019.

It is also the best place for a discount thanks to the strong pound against the lira, with holiday deals from just £239 per person for all-inclusive trips.

Since Turkey is one of the most popular destinations, this news makes it easier for hard-working British families to appreciate a well-deserved holiday to this lovely country.

Consider the benefit of the new rules and book a holiday to Turkey, with great warmth and cheap deals. Visas can cause huge dilemmas, the Brits heading to the US even if just for the airport, will need an ESTA.
