Emirates Upgrades Aircraft On Dar Es Salaam Route

Emirates announced to introduce a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the Dar Es Salaam route effective 1 February 2013. The airline will be increasing the seating capacity to more than 1400 seats weekly with the deployment of the Boeing aircraft.

Currently, Emirates operates an Airbus 340-500 that will be replaced to boost the seating capacity. The new aircraft offers a three-class configuration of 360 seats – 8 luxury First Class suites, 42 Business Class and 310 Economy Class.

In addition to generous space and comfort for travellers, the airline concentrates on the positive impact gains from Tanzania’s import and export industry.

The current Airbus 340-500 has a maximum capacity of 30 tonnes in both directions.  By operating the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which has a capacity of 46 tonnes, the airline will offer businesses an advantage of additional 112 tonnes of weekly capacity on the route.
