Dubai Airport Opens The World’s First Airbus A380 Concourse

Dubai International Airport opened a new concourse designed specifically to handle the operations of Double Decker A380 aircraft.

A unique terminal built for the A380 aircraft opens up a range of benefits for travellers as well as the airport crew. The new terminal helps to speed up the boarding times for passengers. In addition, reduce the gate traffic and congestion.

Prior to the launch of Concourse A, the Dubai Airport operated a trial with more than 3,000 volunteer travellers. The procedures of the operational trial during December 2012 were to test the gate areas and boarding process. 4 out of 20 gates have been brought in to operation.

The opening of Concourse A enables to ensure smooth operations and commit to better customer services.

Flight EK003 to London Heathrow was the first flight to utilise the facility

Concourse A, which is a part of Terminal 3 is built exclusive for Emirates airline. All other international and national carriers operate out on Terminal 1 and 2. The construction of Concourse A is a part of the $7.8 billion Strategic Plan 2020.
