World’s Largest Ski Dome in Denmark

A Danish travel firm plans to build the world’s largest ski dome. The topography is in resemblance to the popular ski resort in France, pistes of the Alpe d’Huez. At present, the largest ski dome in the world is located in Dubai known as Ski Dubai. It stretches over a block of 22,500 square feet.

The ski travel agency, Danski, works in collaboration with a Danish architecture firm CEBRA. The proposed design is a ski dome in the shape of a snowflake. The ski dome will be located in the city of Randers over a river.

Here is a glimpse of the ski dome features

  • 3 km six indoor slopes and 3 km  two outdoor slopes centrally connected the arches
  • The ski dome bear a resemblance to a six armed snow flake
  • Each arch stretch 700 meters
  • The highest arch rises 110 meters above ground (adds as an iconic landmark in Denmark)
  • Perforated windows in the ski dome to offer surrounding views to skiers
  • Offers facilities for skateboarding
  • Every piste has a lift which conjoins by an elevator (as a means of transporting skiers to different levels)
